Your Skills are Needed to Create a Charity Quilt
There are many organizations that create and give quilts to the underprivileged or sick men, women, and children in need of comfort. Nine are listed below. If you cannot help with money, how about time, fabric, quilts, thread? Every little bit counts. If you are not sure your efforts would be appreciated, read what one visitor had to say about the gift her nephew received. It will break your heart.
After receiving Carol's letter a few years ago, we added the following organizations that could use your help. As you can see from the letter above, the quilts can make a big difference in someone's life. Quilts for Cops
From their website: Quilts for Cops is a registered 501c3 foundation and all donations are tax deductible.
Since founding Quilts for Cops on October 25, 2016, over 280 beautiful handmade quilts have been sent to First Responders across the nation who have been injured in the line of duty. As of July 20, 2017, 160 recipients remain on our waiting list for quilts and that number grows daily.

Quilts for Kids
From their website: "Our mission is twofold. First and foremost, we make quilts for kids in medical crisis from donated and discontinued fabric. Second, by using donated and discontinued fabrics, we keep the fabric out of the landfills. “

What's a BINKY? A binky is a homemade blanket that can be sewn, knitted, crocheted or quilted. They range in size from 3 feet square up to twin bed size.
We welcome all volunteers. We make blankets and give them away to children and teens in need of comfort across the country. We have local chapters and events. Binky Patrol welcomes students and scouting troops, churches, community service organizations.
Quilts for Cure
Quilts for Cure is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists to raise awareness about childhood cancer, provide every child in the US being treated for cancer with a quilt, honor the children who are fighting for their lives, and to fundraise for CURE Childhood Cancer research programs so that kids can have safer, more effective treatments.

Project Linus is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission:
First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers." 6.5+ million quilts have been delivered since 1995.
Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

Victoria's Quilts For Cancer Patients:
Victoria's Quilts make quilts for cancer patients....and lots of quillows for patients to take with them to chemo treatments (which make you very cold) I was hoping to gain some help in the quilting community in finding anyone across the country who would be willing to help us by making tops, lap size quilts, blocks, most anything. I also send quilts out around the country to cancer patients of all ages.

Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation
Our mission is to grant wishes, including memory-making events, for metastatic breast cancer patients, while continuing to support, educate and increase resource awareness.
